Laser Cutting Technology
Laser cutting is a modern industrial process implemented via a CNC controlled system in which a high-powered laser is used to rapidly cut profiles in sheet metals, resulting in a clean finish.
Laser cutting is a highly efficient process that offers unrivalled levels of uniformity, meaning customers can be confident in both the regularity and quality of their finished product.
We use the automated, industry-leading Bystronic fibre laser to implement our laser cutting services. The lasers are capable cutting stainless steel up to 12mm in thickness, aluminium up to 6mm and mild steel up to 15mm, with a maximum sheet size of 3000mm x 1500mm.
There is very little heat distortion of the sheet parts. Set-up times are low and productivity high when laser cutting both thick and thin sheets, resulting in cut edges with high-quality finishes.
Demand for laser cutting continues to grow. It offers a significant increase in productivity and efficiency by eliminating the need for finishing, drilling, milling, punching and similar costly operations.
Laser cutting is not only faster, more accurate and neater than other metal cutting methods, but it is so precise that it does not create burrs or surface metal damage, eradicating the need invest more money in additional metal finishing process.

Thicker metals take longer to cut, and so have higher costs attached. Below the graph shows the typical relationship between thickness and speed.
